The Duke Surgical Oncology Fellowship is a two-year fellowship dedicated to training the future leaders of surgical oncology.  Initiated in July 2008, the fellowship is structured according to guidelines established by the Society of Surgical Oncology incorporating a broad clinical experience with options for specialization during the second-year electives. 

 

High volume experiences in breast, endocrine, melanoma/sarcoma, hepatobiliary, colorectal, and thoracic surgical oncology are complimented by unique rotations in minimally invasive surgery and community surgical oncology to provide an exceptional clinical experience.

 

Clinical and basic research experiences will be tailored to the interests of each fellow and take advantage of the diverse opportunities present within the university.  Options for a third year to pursue additional research training will be considered for interested fellows.

 

Applicants must have finished or be scheduled to finish an ACGME-approved training program in general surgery prior to program initiation.
